Lehana Thabane PhD

Dr Lehana Thabane is a Professor of Biostatistics and Associate Chair of the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact; Associate member of the Departments of Pediatrics and Anesthesia in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada). He is also the Director of Biostatistics at St Joseph’s Healthcare—Hamilton (Ontario, Canada). He has co-authored over 550 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has won several teaching and supervision awards including the CE&B Excellence Award in Teaching for 2004-2006; the FHS Excellence in Graduate Supervision Award for 2012; and the McMaster President’s Excellence in Graduate Supervision Award for 2016. He is the clinical trials mentor for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. He is Professor Extraordinaire in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Stellenbosch University; and holds visiting professorship at the University of Cape Town, South Africa and UNESP, Brazil.
