Dr. Navaravong is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Section of Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He received his medical degree from Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. He finished his internship at State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center and internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts and his Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at the University of Utah.
After graduating from the University of Utah fellowship program, Dr. Navaravong served as a cardiac electrophysiologist in Iowa before returning to the University of Utah as Clinical Faculty. His primary focus is caring for patients with heart rhythm disorders (irregular, slow or fast heartbeats and arrhythmia related to heart attack and heart dysfunction). He performs many cardiac procedures to help patients with heart rhythm disorders including: loop recorder implantation, pacemaker, cardiac defibrillator, left atrial appendage occlude, and also lead extraction.
In addition, Dr. Navaravong also performs catheter-based treatment for heart rhythm disorders, such as: catheter ablation of atrial arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia and atrial flutter), catheter ablation of ventricular arrhythmia (premature ventricular beats and ventricular tachycardia) and also other rhythm abnormalities.
