Lee Varner is the Patient Safety Director for EMS Services at the Center for Patient Safety. Lee believes that developing a safety culture is a journey. As with any journey it requires the appropriate planning and commitment to reach the destination or goal. Lee works to support the measuring and gauging of that safety culture journey. This includes education around safety culture which ultimately influences the decisions and choices we make every day. Lee holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in EMS and a Master’s of Science Degree in EMS from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He is also a certified Just Culture Trainer and is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety. Lee is also a founding member of the National EMS Safety Council and an active member of the NAEMT.
