Lea Ann Chen MD

Dr. Chen's research interests include studying the causes, prevention, and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease and studying the gut microbiome — or the community of bacteria that live in the gut — and its role in human health and disease. Dr. Chen's research includes studies done in the laboratory (called basic and translational research) as well as studies that evaluate new preventive or treatment approaches for patients who may potentially benefit from them (called clinical trials). Dr. Chen's current clinical trials are focused on Crohn's disease.
