Layla Mohamed Al-marzouqi MD, PhD

Dr. Layla Mohamed Al-Marzouqi is the Director, Health Tourism Council (Dubai Health Authority, Government of Dubai). Dr. Al-Marzouqi holds a degree in medicine and surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She spent ten years studying and gaining experience in internal medicine and cardiology in Dublin - after which she returned home and started work in Dubai hospital as a specialist cardiologist (with a particular interest in preventive cardiology).
She later returned to the UK and obtained a Master's degree in cardiovascular rehabilitation (the first UAE national to do so). Subsequently, she completed a second Master's degree in healthcare administration and graduated with distinction from Zayed University-UAE. Along the way, she was also awarded a Ph.D. scholarship from the UAE University. Dr. Layla Al-Marzouqi was part of the team, formed by his Excellency the Director General of Dubai Health Authority, and given the task of transferring the Department of Health and Medical Services into Dubai Health Authority.
