Laurie Zimmer was a Vice-President of Operations for Bluewater Health and with over 30 years of healthcare experience, Laurie is accountable for a diversified portfolio of corporate, clinical, and support services. She brings a strong understanding of local health challenges and priorities and recognizes the broader strategic trends in healthcare policy, integration and system development. A trusted, collaborative and consultative professional, she has a proven record of leading and facilitating excellence in health system planning, service delivery, and process/performance improvements.
Her qualities are currently showcased with her work as the co-executive sponsor of the No One Waits (NOW) initiative, executive sponsor for the Bluewater Health Indigenous Partnership, community-integrated capital planning with the Town of Petrolia, and Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital of Bluewater Health, and numerous community partners in Sarnia-Lambton. Originally a Registered Nurse in critical care, Laurie has a Master's of Science in Leadership and Management. She is passionate about patient and family-centered care, often speaks at provincial and national conferences, and serves on the Central Lambton Family Health Team Board of Directors.
