Laurie Craigen is currently an Assistant Professor in the Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program at Boston University. School of Medicine. For the past ten years, she has worked in a private practice setting. Her client base consists largely of adolescents and young adults presenting with a variety of mental health concerns, particularly self-injurious behavior. Her research interests include self-injurious behavior, trauma, and the integration of creative and expressive arts in counselor education training programs. She was recently awarded Diplomate status in Child and Adolescent counseling from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). In addition to her research and teaching endeavors, she is committed to examining barriers to counseling worldwide. In fact, Dr. Craigen recently participated in NBCC's Mental Health Facilitator Program (MHF).
