Dr. McKenzie is a Board-Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist by American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has clinical faculty appointments for both University of Texas and Baylor College of Medicine. She serves on the scientific program committee for the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and is a former course director for continuing education courses sponsored by ACOG. Dr. McKenzie joined Houston IVF in 2004 and is Director of Houston Oncofertility Preservation and Education (H.O.P.E.), the oncofertility program at Houston IVF. Dr McKenzie has consistently been voted as a "Top Doctor" and "Top Doctor for Women" by H-Texas Magazine and as a "Texas Super Doc" by Texas Monthly Magazine.


She received her Baccalaureate Degree at University of Florida and graduated with honors from the University of Florida Medical School. Following her completion of a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas, Dr. McKenzie completed fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.,br/>
Professional memberships include the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Endocrine Society and the American Medical Association. She is a professional member of RESOLVE, the National Fertility Association. Dr. McKenzie has received many honors and awards including the John Harrington Tanous Research Award, the prestigious ACOG Ortho- McNeil Academic Fellowship, the NIH Fellowship Award, and membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.

Dr. McKenzie has published both basic science research and clinical reports in peer reviewed journals as well as chapters in textbooks on reproductive topics. Her research related to preimplantation genetic diagnosis, embryo selection, and male factor infertility has been presented at national and international research meetings including the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the International Society for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis, and she has been an invited speaker for courses given by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. McKenzie's areas of expertise include IVF, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, recurrent pregnancy loss, reproductive surgery, and fertility preservation in couples undergoing therapy for cancer. Dr. McKenzie’s current research is targeting means to improve embryo selection and gene regulation of human oocytes.
