Laurentius A. Lesmana MD, SpPD-KGEH, Ph.D, FACP, FECG

Laurentius A. Lesmana MD, PhD, is professor of internal medicine, a consultant internist and gastroenterologist/hepatologist at Department of Medicine, University of Indonesia, and at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo teaching hospital in Jakarta. He earned his medical degree from the University of Indonesia, where he also completed an internship atDepartment of Medicine.
In 1979 until 1980 he later conducted a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy and earned a PhD in Medicine at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) under the leadership of Prof. G.N.J Tytgat. He also underwent training in GI endoscopy with prof Nib Soehendra in Hamburgh in 1980 and also a short training in clinical Hepatology in Chiba University School of Medicine in Chiba, Japan under the leadership of the late Prof. Kunio Okuda.
