Laurence Weinberg BSc, MBBCh

Laurence Weinberg is a staff anesthetist at Austin Hospital. His clinical and research interests include anesthesia for cardiac and hepatobiliary surgery including liver transplantation. He is the chief investigator for the SPLIT-Major-Surgery study, which compared a buffered crystalloid solution to saline on the incidence of acute kidney injury in over 1000 patients. His presentation will provide a contemporary overview of perioperative acute kidney injury including identification of risk factors, recognition of AKI, management, and outcomes.
