Dr. Laurence Collette is the Principal Statistician at International Drug Development Institute. She obtained her PhD from Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam University, the Netherlands in 2006 with her thesis about the use of surrogate endpoints in clinical trials in prostate cancer. She also holds a Master of Science in biostatistics and in mathematics from Hasselt University and from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.
She is known for her expertise in cancer research, particularly for studies of urological malignancies and studies involving non-drug interventions (irradiation, surgery), including quality assurance in those fields. Her research interests include biomarker-based treatment selection, interim trial monitoring, and innovative trial designs. To date, she co-authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications in the field of cancer clinical trials. At EORTC, Laurence Collette is also responsible for the data sharing policy and for the publication and disclosure policy. She also organizes short courses on methodology and statistics for non-statisticians in Brussels, with EORTC, and in South America with her colleagues from the Latin American Oncology Group.
