Laura Galuchie is a Director, Global Trial Management and Therapeutic Area Lead for Respiratory & Immunology at Merck in their Global Clinical Trial Operations division. Laura has held several positions through her pharmaceutical career. She started at Johnson & Johnson in 1989 as a Clinical Data Reviewer progressing to a Clinical Research Associate. After joining Rhone-Poulenc Rorer (RPR), as a Clinical Research Specialist, she later became the Respiratory Department Scientific Manager. While at RPR, Laura had the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of a phase III program. Her contributions continued through to the NDA application filing.

She was also able to participate in FDA interactions and in an advisory committee meeting. Laura joined Schering-Plough in 1999 as the Project Leader for the newly created Regional CRA team for Respiratory & Immunology. While at Schering-Plough, she was promoted through increasing levels of responsibility. She managed many projects, including some which lead to product submissions and subsequent approvals, and managed both internal and external teams.

She was also involved in broad company initiatives including Global Clinical Harmonization. These experiences served her well as a representative on both pre- and post-merger Integration Teams when Schering-Plough and Merck merged in 2009. After the merger, she co-lead a Program and Study Planning workstream to select and recommend the clinical trial planning processes for the new company. She continues to be involved in Global Clinical Trial Operations initiatives and represents Merck in a multi-sponsor Collaboration effort.
