Laura Civiero, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Padova. She graduated in Molecular Biology from the University of Padova and she obtained her PhD in Biotechnology at the University of Verona. During her postdoctoral studies, she investigated the neuronal and glial functions of Leucine-Rich Repeat Kinase 2 (LRRK2), a kinase involved in extremely common familiar forms of Parkinson’s disease. She carried out part of her research in collaboration with the University of Leuven (Belgium), the University of Laval (Canada), and the NIH (United States). Her research interests include Neuroscience, Parkinson's Disease, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Astrocytes, Biotechnology, and Molecular Biology.
