Laszlo L. Mechtler MD, FAAN, FASN

Dr. Laszlo Mechtler is a Professor of Neurology and Oncology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is UCNS certified in Neuroimaging, Neuro-Oncology, and Headache Medicine. Dr. Mechtler is the Medical Director of the Dent Neurologic Institute as well as the Dent Neurologic Imaging Center and he is the Chief of Neuro-Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. His training includes institutions such as MD Anderson and the State University of New York at Buffalo.

He completed his Neuroimaging fellowship at the Dent Neurologic Institute in 1990. He is the immediate Past President of the American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN). He was the guest editor of the 2009 and 2014 editions of Neurology Clinics on ‘Neuroimaging’. He was also the guest editor of the 2008 and current 2016 editions of Continuum on ‘Neuroimaging’. He also represents the AAN on the ACR Neuroimaging expert panel for evaluation of appropriateness criteria for neurological disorders as well as the Executive Committee for BrainPAC. He is currently participating in numerous clinical trials which include neuroimaging research for traumatic brain injury as well as brain tumors. Dr. Mechtler is also the Director of the Neuroimaging Fellowship program at the Dent Neurologic Institute and lectures on Neuroimaging both nationally and internationally.
