Lance Jennings QSO, PhD, FRCPath, FFSc(RCPA) - Clinical Virologist to the Canterbury District Health Board, Director of New Zealand’s WHO National Measles Laboratory, Clinical Associate Professor in the Pathology Department, University of Otago, New Zealand, Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, London, and a Founding Fellow of the Science Faculty, Royal Australasian College of Pathologists.
Lance Jennings He has been instrumental in the development of influenza control strategies for New Zealand, including the introduction of free influenza vaccine, establishment of influenza awareness education (NISG) and pandemic planning. His research interests focus on the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of influenza and other respiratory virus infections. He co-founded in 2002 the Asia Pacific Alliance for the Control of Influenza (APACI), a Charitable Trust, and is a Director and the immediate past-Chair. He was the Chair of ISIRV for the period 2013 - 2019 and is currently chairing the ISIRV Governance Committee.
