Lana M. Brown, PhD, RN, is a seasoned healthcare leader and nurse executive serving as Associate Director for Education and Evaluation at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, a major Veterans Affairs medical center in Arkansas. In this role, she leads educational strategy and evaluation initiatives for the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC), shaping interdisciplinary programs that advance geriatric care and professional development for healthcare teams.
Brown’s career spans over three decades in nursing, clinical leadership, research, and nursing education. She began her professional journey as a registered nurse and steadily advanced into management and academic roles, demonstrating a commitment to evidence-based practice, team mentorship, and organizational excellence. Before her current leadership role, she served as Associate Nurse Executive for Research and held faculty and instructional positions in nursing programs.
In addition to her executive responsibilities, Brown is an adjunct professor, teaching undergraduate nursing courses and mentoring future nursing professionals. Her work includes presenting research at national conferences, publishing scholarly articles on topics such as geriatric health outcomes, and contributing to professional nursing organizations.
Brown earned her Ph.D. in Nursing Science and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the same institution. Her academic and leadership work underscores a lifelong dedication to improving health outcomes, strengthening clinical education, and fostering innovation in veteran care.
