Lampros Perogamvros is a psychiatrist, working as a senior clinical fellow at the Sleep Laboratory of the Geneva University Hospitals and as a researcher at the Department of Neurosciences of the University of Geneva. Lampros Perogamvros' work focuses on the investigation of neural correlates and the phenomenology of dreams and nightmares. More precisely, Lampros Perogamvros investigates the role of cortical and subcortical structures in dream generation and the overall dream experience, as well as their dysfunction in nightmare disorder. Lampros Perogamvros is also interested in how sleep and dreaming participate in emotion regulation and in memory consolidation processes, with the goal of understanding the potential function of dreaming.
