Dr. Chawla currently serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine; he has dual appointments in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and in the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension at the George Washington University Medical Center. He has been with George Washington University Medical Center since 1995. Dr. Chawla is board certified in Critical Care Medicine and Nephrology. He is an active investigator in the fields of Acute Kidney Injury, particularly in the area of inflammation and AKI, AKI biomarkers, AKI risk prediction, and AKI therapeutics.
