Lada Zivkovic, born in December, 19th 1970, in Belgrade, where she finished primary school Vladislav Ribnikar and High School Specialized for Mathematics Veljko Vlahovic. She enrolled in the Faculty of Molecular Biology and Physiology, University of Belgrade, in 1990/1991, and graduated in 1996, with a GPA 8,2. During the studies she completed an internship in the Karyobiology Laboratory of Prof dr Pat Helpson-Harrison, John Innes Institute, Norwich, Great Britain. At the final year of her studies, Lada Zivkovic obtained a two-month scholarship (Training and Work Experience Scheme) in Laboratory for Genetics and Breeding, Horticulture Research Institute, Kent, Great Britain, where she conducted experiments for her diploma thesis. She defended her final exam thesis, named “Effect of Extraction on the Quantity and Purity of the DNA“ she with the best grade, under the supervision of Academician Prof dr Dragan Marinkovic.
