Kyungmouk Steve Lee, M.D. is a board-certified interventional radiologist specializing in the treatment of liver tumors. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and maintains specialty certification in Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR).

Dr. Lee earned his bachelor of science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and his medical degree with honors in research from Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in interventional radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He is currently an assistant professor of radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an assistant attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Lee’s research focus is in optimizing non-surgical ablative therapy of tumors (e.g., using a needle with extreme heat or cold to destroy cancer). He is also researching the use of image-guided infusion of endothelial cells for liver regeneration and the treatment of cirrhosis. He has authored over 25 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters as well as being awarded research grants from the Society of Interventional Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
