Kyong-mi Chang MD

Dr. Kyong-Mi Chang leads the research program at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMCVAMC) as the Associate Chief of Staff and Associate Dean for R&D. She is also Professor of Medicine (tenured) in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine (Penn) which is affiliated with CMCVAMC. In addition to her clinical expertise in managing patients with acute and chronic liver diseases (e.g. hepatitis C, hepatitis B, and metabolic liver disease), Dr. Chang has research expertise in immune and genetic mechanisms of liver disease pathogenesis. Beyond pursuing scientific discovery through independent and collaborative research, Dr. Chang has successfully led and built new research programs while mentoring early and mid-career researchers, especially within the VA system.
