Dr. Kumar Belani, MBBS, MS, FACA, FAAP is a Distinguished International Professor at the Academic Health Center, University of Minnesota and serves as a Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and as an adjunct Professor in Medicine, Pediatrics, and Environmental Health Sciences in the Schools of Medicine & Public Health at the University of Minnesota. He serves as Anesthesiologist-in-Chief at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Belani’s special interests include pediatric ambulatory anesthesia, anesthetic toxicity and safety, pediatric preoperative evaluation and preparation and enhanced recovery of the ambulatory surgical patient, disorders of thermoregulation, global anesthesia education and collaboration (international medicine), solid organ transplantation and metabolic, storage disorders, and uncommon pediatric diseases.

Throughout his career, Dr. Belani has served in various leadership roles, including as President of the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia, President of the Minnesota Society of Anesthesiology, Research Director of Anesthesiology, Executive Advisory Committee member for the International Medical Education and Research Program, Secretary for the Society of Ambulatory Anesthesia, Visiting Professor at St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Professor of Global Health, Narayana Hrudayalaya Institute of Medical Sciences
