Krista Schroeder Krista Schroeder, PhD, RN

Krista Schroeder is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Center for Health Equity Research at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Prior to pursuing a career in research, Dr. Schroeder worked as an intensive care unit nurse in both New York City and Philadelphia hospitals, which inspired her interest in chronic disease prevention. Dr. Schroeder recently completed her PhD at Columbia University School of Nursing where she conducted research in the area of childhood obesity prevention and treatment. For her dissertation study, she partnered with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to evaluate a school nurse-led obesity intervention used in the New York City schools. Her current research focuses on school-based childhood obesity interventions, with a focus on intervention sustainability and feasibility in underserved communities.
