Krishnananda Chattopadhyay currently works at the Structural Biology and Bio-Informatics Division (IICB), Indian Institute of Chemical Biology. Krishnananda uses biophysical spectroscopy and biochemical techniques to study protein folding and aggregation in solution, inside cells, and at the materials' surface. One of the current projects is 'Non-native interactions in early folding events of proteins.' Another interest of the laboratory revolves around the aggregation and amyloidosis of alpha-synuclein and SOD1 and their implications in neurodegeneration.
