Knut Engedal

Knut Engedal is professor emeritus of geriatric psychiatry at the University of Oslo, Norway and was the former director for research at the Norwegian Advisory Unit for Aging and Health, a centre for research, education and service development in the fields of geriatric psychiatry, dementia, ageing and functional and intellectual disabilities. His main interest in research is on dementia and depression in late life. In addition to scientific papers he has published several textbooks about dementia and geriatric psychiatry. At the time being he is chairing a regional ethics committee for medical research, chairing the Standing Committee for dementia in the Norwegian Health Association and chairing an advisory group for the development of national guidelines for dementia assessment, treatment and care in Norway.
