Dr. Kirubahara Vaheesan performs procedures on adult and pediatric patients with wide variety of medical needs. Services include: state-of-the-art interventional oncology treatments; interventions related to solid organ transplantation; kidney, chest, gastrointestinal, prostate and gynecologic interventions; arterial and venous interventions; and trauma-related interventions.
Dr. Vaheesan’s research interests include tumor ablations, liver transplant-related interventions, and ultrasound-assisted, catheter-directed thrombolysis (dissolution of blood clots).
He is an associate professor in the Department of Radiology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and serves as chief of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Vaheesan is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, and the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association.
