Kirtley E. Thornton PhD

Dr. Kirtley Thornton, It was a private general mental health clinic that offered a diverse array of mental health services, ranging from individual psychotherapy, marriage counseling, psychodiagnostic testing, hypnotherapy, court evaluations for custody situations, evaluations for legal situations, and other services for a wide set of HMO & PPO type clients. Between 1985 and 2012 there were over 10 Ph.D. psychologists, three psychiatrists, and five biofeedback technicians associated with the practice.

The practice was closed in New Jersey in 2013 when Dr. Thornton left New Jersey and opened up the Neuroscience Center in Charlotte, NC. He has continued to be engaged in individual psychotherapy, marital counseling, Neuropsychological evaluations, and Psychological Evaluations. The focus of this website is on the quantitative EEG and Neurotherapy / EEG biofeedback research. These areas are relatively new areas in the field of psychological interventions and require a technical understanding for full appreciation of their value. This website presents a proposed conceptual understanding of how the brain functions.
