Kirsten Louise Tryde Macklon MD, PhD

Kirsten Tryde Macklon works as a consultant at The Fertility Clinic, Copenhagen University Hospital Rigshospitalet, Denmark. In 2008 she specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Copenhagen and prior to this obtained her Ph.D. degree in 2005 with the thesis entitled: Cryopreservation of ovarian tissue from girls and women prior to treatment of malignant disease. She specializes in fertility treatment and reproductive endocrinology and is clinically responsible for the fertility preservation program in the eastern part of Denmark. Her main area of research concentrates on fertility preservation in cancer patients and she has been part of establishing the service of cryopreservation of ovarian tissue, which has been very successful in Denmark. She has several publications in peer-reviewed journals and has given numerous international talks, primarily on fertility preservation. She has helped establish the service of cryopreservation of ovarian tissue in Southampton University Hospital, England, where she worked for a period of a year. She has authored several national as well as international guidelines on fertility preservation in cancer patients.
