Kirsten Steinhausen's physician and health economist. After studying human medicine in Münster, Berlin and Paris and her doctorate, she worked in the Institute of clinical physiology at the Free University of Berlin and then as Assistant Physician in internal medicine at the Medical University of Hannover as well as a postdoc at the University Hospital Hamburg Eppendorf. After completing her graduate studies in health economics at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, she worked for 2 years as a senior researcher at the company clamps and partners with a focus on process and quality management. From 2006 to 2010 she worked as a consultant in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for the planning and design of development programs and health and research policy processes responsible (emphasis clinical studies, health economics, health services research, personalized medicine and drug development). She then worked 2 years at the European Science Foundation in Strasbourg in the field and coordinated there strategic processes in the field of health research (focus on personalized medicine, evidence-based medicine and clinical trials). She's since WS 2012 Professor at the University of Furtwangen.
