Kirsten Grueter is a Registered Nurse working at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. After graduating from Boston College School of Nursing, she began her career as a circulating nurse at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell in the operating room. While caring for surgical patients on the Orthopedic Trauma Service, she developed a particular interest in the management of fragility fractures and transitioned to a role under the guidance of Dr. Joseph Lane to assist in the design and implementation of the Fracture Liaison Service.

She is the clinical point person for Dr. Lane's outpatient practice and additionally spearheads Dr. Lane's research team, overseeing the research team in several prospective clinical trials. She is currently obtaining her Masters of Science degree as an Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner from New York University. She hopes to continue to expand the community impact of the Metabolic Bone Disease Services at the Hospital for Special Surgery with her advanced degree, as well as educational practitioners around the country of the significance of a Fracture Liaison Service and teach best practices on how to initiate this program.
