Kiminobu Sugaya PhD

Dr. Kiminobu Sugaya, Ph.D., has been the Head of Neuroscience in the College of Medicine, University of Central Florida (UCF) since 2004. He is an honorary professor of the Instituto de Investigaciones Científicas y Servicios de Alta Tecnología AIP, Panama, and a visiting professor of Tohoku University, School of Medicine, Japan. He showed that stem cell transplantation could reverse memory deficits for the first time in 2000. His current research focus is novel pharmacological neuroregeneration therapies for Down syndrome, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s diseases, which do not require transplantation of the cells. He published 222 articles with 4422 citations and h-index=39, i10-index=83.

He holds various patents (50 patents and 21 pending), including the world’s first iPS cell patent. He has been a member of the National Academy of Invention since 2017. Dr. Sugaya is also a world-famous neuroscientist in Music and the brain, and he just received an interview from the BBC for their broadcasting. Dr. Sugaya is the founder and CEO of ProgeniCyte Japan, a biotech company that commercializes all his innovative technologies to the world. The technologies include neuroregeneration therapies by oral administration of the drugs, topical application treatment for hair loss, and diagnostic equipment for multiple diseases and infections, including SARS-CoV2 based on nanotechnology.
