Kimberly A. McElwee, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who has spent her entire career in both the inpatient and outpatient mental health settings providing counseling on both clinical and administrative levels. She believes that counseling is most effective when there is a good match between a therapist and a client. It is critical to feel comfortable with a therapist to work on your journey of self-improvement and discovery. Making the initial decision to enter therapy is not an easy one and it takes courage to reach out and ask for support. With the right relationship between a therapist and client, this process feels less intimidating and more attainable.Everyone encounters stress and difficult times in their lives. Whether it is life transitions, troubled or unhealthy relationships, stuck in a certain place, or something more significant, counseling provides an opportunity for change and better emotional well-being. She is committed to helping an individual reduce stress and anxiety and create a more whole and meaningful life.
