Dr. Kim Ki Woong is a professor of the Department of Psychiatry, Seoul National University College of Medicine and the Department of Brain and Cognitive Science, Seoul National University College of Natural Sciences, and leading the Center for Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.

He graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1989 and has a Ph.D. in medical science from the Seoul National University Graduate School in 1999. He completed a residency in psychiatry and fellowship in geropsychiatry at the Seoul National University Hospital.

His major research interests are neuroimaging, neurophysiology, and epidemiology of dementia and dementia policy. He has been leading the Korean Longitudinal Study on Health and Aging (KLOSCHA) since 2005 and the Korean Longitudinal Study on Cognitive Aging and Dementia (KLOSCAD) since 2009 as the principal investigator. He published more than 300 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Since 2012, he has been working as the first director of the Korean National Institute of Dementia (KNID) and contributed to the development and implementation of Korean national dementia plans.
