Dr. Khalid Shah is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and Vice-Chairman, of the Department of Neurosurgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital. His research is based on developing clinically translatable models of both primary, recurrent and metastatic brain tumors, and stem cell-based cell surface receptor therapeutics that simultaneously target cell death and proliferation pathways in an effort to eradicate brain tumors. He has engineered different stem cell types to release therapeutic proteins to specifically induce apoptosis in tumor cells and anti-angiogenic to inhibit tumor angiogenesis and tested them in primary and metastatic mouse tumor models.
