He also held various positions at private practices in the US upon completion of his fellowship training at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, US in 2001.

Dr. Saleh received his undergraduate degree with distinction from American University of Beirut and graduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana, US. He obtained his medical degree from University of Illinois School of Medicine, Peoria, US. Dr. Saleh received his training in Internal Medicine from Indiana University, Indianapolis and completed his fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care at the University of Cincinnati, US.

He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society, and has a special interest in quality and patient safety as well as medical ethics. Dr. Saleh chaired the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at John C. Lincoln Hospital and the Ethics Committee at Kindred Hospital. He held positions as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Midwestern University and Medical Director of Kaplan College in Phoenix, Arizona, US
