Dr. Pei is board certified in general surgery and in surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery. His clinical interests include trauma, surgical critical care, general surgery. His research interests include surgical outcomes, laparoscopy for acute care surgeons, simulation, and education.
Dr. Pei completed a combined BS/MD program at the Illinois Institute of Technology / Chicago Medical School and General Surgery Residency at George Washington University. He was fellowship trained in surgical critical care at University of Hawaii. He is an Assistant Professor at Yale School of Medicine Department of Surgery (Trauma) and Associate Director of Resident Education for Surgery at the Yale Center for Medical Simulation.
