Kevin Harris, MD, FRCP is a Professor of Renal Medicine and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs in the College of Life Sciences at the University of Leicester. He is an Honorary Consultant Nephrologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. He was a co-investigator on a major national project (funded by the Health Foundation) to look at methods to improve the care and outcomes of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease across primary and secondary care (QI-CKD study). He has been a Consultant since 1993 and was Clinical Vice President of the Renal Association until 2010 and previously served as Senior Medical Advisor to Kidney Research UK. Until March 2015 he was the Medical Director at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, which is one of the largest acute hospital Trusts in the UK. In April 2015 he became a Consultant Clinical Advisor for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Interventional Procedures), and is currently the Programme Director for the Interventional Procedures at NICE.
