Dr Kevin Boyd is a Consultant Haematologist with a special interest in the treatment of myeloma and related disorders including MGUS, amyloidosis and POEMS syndrome. He is also involved with the Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (HMDS) at The Royal Marsden. He read medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals before completing his Haematology specialist training in London. Prior to his appointment at The Royal Marsden he worked as a Consultant in Brighton for three years, leading the myeloma service there and establishing it as an early phase trials centre for myeloma.
Dr Boyd has a research interest in the genetic changes that cause myeloma, specifically how these could be applied to patient care in order to improve outcomes. He was awarded a PhD in the field of myeloma genetics from The Institute of Cancer Research, defining a prognostic model that can be applied to all newly presenting patients with myeloma.
