Ketan Dhatariya MBBS, MSc, MD, MS, FRCP

Dr. Ketan Dhatariya qualified from the University College and Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1991. He did his SHO posts in Basildon in Essex followed by a stint in Intensive Care at the Whittington Hospital in London. He started his diabetes career on the Isle of Wight and continued with a succession of registrar jobs in South East Thames. During his time at Medway and Dartford, he was a part-time GP in the evenings at a local surgery.

He took time off during his training to train in intensive care medicine at St Thomas's and St George's Hospitals in London. He finished his training in Diabetes in 2001, but instead of taking up a consultant post in Dartford, he opted to give it all up and go and do research in America. He was offered a job as a research fellow in endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota He returned to the UK in September 2003, and was a locum consultant at King's College Hospital and the Homerton Hospital (both in London), until his appointment at the N&N which he commenced in September 2004.
