Kent H. Rehfeldt, M.D., is a cardiovascular anesthesiologist and perioperative echocardiography specialist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He serves as an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, where he provides anesthetic care for patients undergoing complex cardiac and minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures.

Dr. Rehfeldt's clinical expertise includes perioperative echocardiography, minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and advanced cardiovascular anesthesia. His work focuses on utilizing transesophageal echocardiography to optimize surgical decision-making and improve outcomes for patients undergoing complex heart procedures.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Dr. Rehfeldt completed a transitional year internship at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center, followed by residency training in anesthesiology and fellowships in echocardiography and cardiovascular and thoracic anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic. He is board-certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Rehfeldt is an accomplished educator, researcher, and leader in perioperative echocardiography. He serves on national committees for the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists and the National Board of Echocardiography, has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and has received multiple honors for excellence in education, perioperative echocardiography, and academic service.
