Kenneth Lankin MD, MBA, MPH

Dr. Kenneth Lankin is the Enterprise Medical Director for the Jefferson Occupational Health Network, serving employees and students. Before arriving at Jefferson, Dr. Lankin was the Associate Corporate Medical Director at JPMorgan Chase and led the clinical excellence at the firm’s 29 onsite Health & Wellness Centers in the U.S. In addition, he served as an internal consultant globally and supported the firm on a range of issues, including wellness initiatives, business resiliency, benefit design, compliance, risk communication, and managing healthcare spend.

Before his role at JPMorgan Chase, Dr. Lankin served for over 25 years as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy with a diverse set of leadership, operational, and military health system responsibilities, culminating in his final rank of Captain (0-6) and tour as the Director of Public Health for the Annapolis Region, located at the US Naval Academy. His leadership centered on outpatient clinics, electronic health records, and evidence-based medicine. Among his numerous assignments were the Naval Research Detachment in Lima, Peru, Naval Station Antarctica, Senior Medical Officer in Sasebo, Japan, and serving as a ship’s physician on USS Whidbey Island (LDS-41), credited with rescuing over 8100 Cuban migrants adrift at sea.

During a 2008-2009 deployment to Afghanistan,  Dr. Lankin was selected to serve as the Preventive Medicine Liaison to the Afghan Minister of Public Health with responsibilities in Humanitarian Assistance. His work with the international community included negotiating a 9 million dollar donation to support vaccination efforts and a novel program to train Afghan female police officers as birth attendants. Dr. Lankin also headed a medical team that supported President Clinton’s State of the Union address at the US Capitol.

Dr. Lankin completed a surgery internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, and is board-certified in Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. During undergraduate training, he pursued additional studies at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Westminster College, Oxford (now Oxford Brookes University). He has held a variety of clinical faculty positions at the Uniformed Services University, the Yale School of Nursing, the Quinnipiac Physician Assistant Program, and the Johns Hopkins University Preventive Medicine program. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Medical Review Officer Certification Council (MROCC) and has also served as a volunteer and sang, along with his son, in the Philadelphia Boys Choir and Chorale.
