Kenneth E. Salyer, M.D., is internationally recognized as a pioneer and leader in craniofacial surgery. He has contributed over 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the scientific literature and has authored, co-authored, or edited eleven books. He has received many honorary degrees and professorships and is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Friends of the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Salyer received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1962 and performed a general surgery residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He completed a surgical fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He performed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine on an award from the National Institutes of Health.
