Dr. Kenneth Candido is a distinguished physician based in Chicago, Illinois. With thirty-two years of experience, Dr. Candido is a leading expert in the field of pain management. Currently serving as Chairman and President of Chicago Anesthesia Pain Specialists, his primary focus is chronic pain management with a particular emphasis on spinal pain amongst other acute chronic conditions and regenerative medicine.

After receiving his medical degree from New York Medical College, Dr. Candido went on there to complete his residency in Anesthesiology, followed by a Fellowship at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Today, he remains at his alma mater, the University of Illinois where he is now a professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the school’s Chicago campus.

Since completing his training, Dr. Candido has seen a swift rise in the medical field of pain management, most recently through his work at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical College. Unlike many of his colleagues in clinical practice, he has an extensive background in clinical research regarding the pathways and treatment of chronic pain. Due to his comprehensive and impressive understanding of acute chronic conditions, Dr. Candido has published more than 100 original articles in peer-reviewed literature, and more than seventy textbook chapters, and has delivered more than 700 original continued medical education lectures.

As a leader in his industry, Dr. Candido served for many years as a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists Committee on Chronic Pain. He was unique in being the only individual in the society’s forty-year history to ever Chair the American Society of Regional Anesthesia’s Annual Meeting twice in a single year. He was the Fellowship Director Chairman and Professor of the Pain Program at Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois for many years. He also was the Chair of Acute Pain at Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago and the Chairman of Trauma Anesthesia and Program Director of the Anesthesiology Residency Program at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
