Ken Bouvier, NR-P, Deputy Chief of Operations for New Orleans EMS, is from New Orleans, Louisiana and has been actively involved in EMS since 1975, he is recognized nationally & internationally as a professional speaker in EMS. He serves as Commander for Mardi Gras and assumed command of Field Operations days following Hurricane Katrina. He managed the cast and sometime appeared on the A&E Television show “NIGHTWATCH!” Chief Bouvier is a retired Fire Chief after serving 37 years. Served as President of the NAEMT 2004 – 2006. Recipient of the National EMT of the Year Award 1989 and he received the 2008 prestigious Rocco V. Morando EMS Lifetime Achievement Award. 2012 0Bouvier and New Orleans EMS received the Dick Ferneau Award. Bouvier is a member of the New Orleans & Louisiana EMT Associations. Bouvier has an extensive educational background in emergency response that spans over four decades. He holds certifications from Louisiana State University, Texas A&M University, Florida State Fire College, Louisiana State Police Academy and the National Fire Academy. Bouvier has served the Editorial Advisory Board of EMS World Magazine for 20 years, has written articles for EMS & Fire Service publications, and contributions to 11 EMS textbooks.
