Dr. Ken is currently the Executive VP, Interoperability R&D at the non-profit Center for Medical Interoperability which was established August 2013. He leads the Center’s R&D efforts related to interoperability architectures and implementation of specific interoperability standards.

He joined the Center from Mindray North America where he was the Sr. Principal Architect for Enterprise Systems and had previous technical leadership positions at Draeger Medical Systems, Siemens Medical Solutions and Hewlett-Packard.

Dr. Ken is active in standards development related to medical device connectivity and interoperability. He currently serves as the chair of the IEEE 11073 Standards Committee for medical device communication. He has served as a co-chair for the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise Patient Care Device (IHE PCD) Domain Planning Committee, and also participates in AAMI, ISO/IEC JWG7 standards efforts with a focus on the IEC 80001 standard.

Ken holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Bio-Medical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy NY) as well as an MBA from Babson College (Wellesley Hills MA).
