Dr. Kelly Nett Cordero is a bilingual speech-language pathologist and rehabilitation program coordinator at the Barrow Cleft and Craniofacial Center. She is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at Arizona State University in Phoenix.

Dr. Cordero studied communicative disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning her bachelor’s degree in education in 1996. She completed advanced Spanish coursework in Mexico in the summer of 1997, and earned her master’s degree the following year in speech-language pathology with a bilingual specialization from the University of Texas at Austin.

She earned her PhD in speech and language pathology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 2008, and completed her dissertation on the assessment of cleft palate articulation and resonance in familiar and unfamiliar languages: English, Spanish, and Hmong.

Dr. Cordero has worked as a bilingual speech and language pathologist at the Cleft and Craniofacial Center at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center and in a private clinic in Miami, Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, and Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minnesota. She has also taught students at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
