Kelly M. Shaffer obtained her PhD in clinical psychology in 2016 from the University of Miami, with her clinical internship completed through the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School Behavioral Medicine Service. She is currently a Co-Chief Fellow in the T32
Research Fellowship in Psycho-Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Her research interests include the development, dissemination, and implementation of effective, low-burden interventions for cancer patients and their family members.
Her dissertation examining the dyadic interdependence of colorectal cancer patients' depression and stress biomarkers was supported by a F31 National Research Service Award from the National Cancer Institute. Her research has resulted in eight first-author publications across top-tier health psychology journals, including Cancer, Health Psychology, and Supportive Care in Cancer.
