Kelly Loyet is currently a Senior Scientist at Genentech in the department of Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology (BCP). She received her B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where her research concentrated on protein-phospholipid interactions in regulated exocytosis. She joined Genentech Research as a postdoctoral fellow in the Protein Chemistry Department where she characterized protein interactions and utilized proteomic mass spectrometry tools to profile Th1 and Th2 cell membrane proteins. She has expertise in bioanalytical and functional assays and currently, she and her team develop biochemical and cell-based assays to discover and characterize the MOA of antibody and protein-based biotherapeutics for investigative and preclinical studies. She is a lab group leader and represents BCP on various immunology, immuno-oncology, infectious disease, and ocular project teams.
