Kelly Kent is Director of Clinical Initiatives at Towncrest Pharmacy in Iowa City, Iowa. In her role, she works daily with patients to help them understand their health concerns and work towards their health goals. She has enjoyed the opportunity to use her clinical pharmacy skills in innovative, independent pharmacy practice, and looks forward to seeking out new opportunities for Towncrest Pharmacy to grow and adapt to the ever-changing world of healthcare. Prior to joining the team at Towncrest, Kent managed Pharmacy Matters and learned a great deal about independent pharmacy management while in this position. She also managed Star Drug in Williamsburg, Iowa, and held a joint position with both Liberty Pharmacy in North Liberty, Iowa and the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy as an adjunct assistant professor
Kent is a member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association (IPA), where she has served as a delegate to the IPA House of Delegates. She is currently a part of the New Practice Model project through IPA. She was initiated into the PEO Sisterhood in 2002 and is currently president for Chapter CN in Williamsburg, Iowa. She is a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and has served on various committees.
Kent graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2003. After graduation, she completed a one-year residency specializing in community pharmacy with the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and Main at Locust Pharmacy in Davenport, Iowa. In 2007, she became Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy.
