Kelly Fanning is currently the Executive Director of Ambulatory Services at Brigham Health. Kelly moved into this role in the Spring of 2018 with the goal of establishing a broader ambulatory strategy and team that supports over 150 ambulatory practices in the following areas: Ambulatory access, Quality & Safety, Operations. Ultimately, Kelly and the full Ambulatory Services team are driven to ensure Brigham Health delivers patient-centred ambulatory care that optimizes the experience for patients, providers and staff. Her initial priorities include building a team to advance the ambulatory efforts across Brigham in a strategic, prioritized, and thoughtful manner. Key efforts will be optimizing scheduling efforts from template clean-up, to call centre management; establishing a standard to ensure quality & safety that meets both The Joint Commission standards and patient’s expectations, and supporting practice operations to ensure the 150 ambulatory practices across the Brigham have what they need to be successful. Prior to this current role, Kelly was the Executive Director of Population Health Management (PHM) & Care Innovation at Brigham and Women’s Physician Organization. During her nearly five years in this role, Kelly partnered with the Chief Medical Officer and Associate Medical Directors to develop and execute BWPO’s strategy to deliver efficient and high-quality care to all of their patients. Specifically, Kelly worked within Brigham Health and across the Partners network to launch, monitor, and deliver an ROI on initiatives aimed at redesigning care to be value-based. The work of PHM and Care Innovation has aimed at better positioning Brigham Health as an Accountable Care Organization driving efficient, high-quality patient care, as well as a change in the health care industry.

Prior to moving to BWPO, Kelly spent the eight years as a leader at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Kelly led work related to operationalizing BCBSMA Alternative Quality Contract (AQC), a risk-based contract for ACOs; and developing limited/select provider networks. Kelly holds a Master of Business Administration from Simmons College School of Management.

Kelly holds a bachelor of arts from Colby College and a Master of Business Administration from Simmons School of Management. She is an avid runner participating in five marathons, as well as other athletic adventures including 200-mile relay races and 2.4-mile open water swims. Kelly lives in Belmont, MA with her husband and her two strong, young girls.
